Creeping cinquefoil - Potentilla reptans Creeping cinquefoil - Potentilla reptans© Dr Chris Gibson/English Nature ![]() This plant has a vigorous creeping habit. The bright yellow flowers have five petals on a slender stalk. The long, stalked, almost hairless leaves have between five- and seven-toothed leaflets. Creeping cinquefoil attracts solitary bees. It is commonly seen in grasslands, along roadsides and in hedgebanks. It makes excellent ground cover but its invasiveness will make it unwelcome to some gardeners.
