Meadow vetchling - Lathyrus pratensis Meadow vetchling - Lathyrus pratensis© Dr Chris Gibson/English Nature ![]() Meadow vetchling is a scrambling plant, with pretty, yellow, pea-like flowers - in bloom throughout the summer - and narrow, lance-shaped leaves. The leaves are composed of a pair of grey-green arrow-shaped leaflets and twinning tendrils. The tall, strong stalks end with terminal flower clusters and shiny black, pea-like, seed pods. This is a native of hedgerows and rough grassland and so is a useful plant for wildflower meadows and hedgebanks. Animals
