Irish fleabane - Inula salicina

This daisy-like perennial with hairy green leaves has golden yellow flowerheads of fine, narrow petals which attract pollinating insects. It is known in the wild only from a lake shore in Ireland, but grows well as a marginal plant of ponds, and provides welcome late colour in a wildlife garden.

Most members of the Inula family are good nectar-providers and this is no exception. It will attract bees and hoverflies.
